What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by external services running on the site). They can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (stored across sessions).
What cookies we set
First-party cookies. Streameast does not set first-party cookies for tracking, personalization, or advertising. We do not maintain user accounts, comment systems, or registration forms, so we have no functional need for first-party cookies.
Third-party cookies — Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site traffic. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
_ga— used to distinguish users. Persistent, expires after two years._ga_*— used to persist session state. Persistent, expires after two years._gid— used to distinguish users on a daily basis. Persistent, expires after twenty-four hours._gat— used to throttle the request rate. Session-only.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization, no advertising features, and no remarketing. The data collected is used internally for aggregate site traffic analysis only and is not shared beyond Google’s standard analytics infrastructure.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising network cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking pixels, or third-party cross-site tracking. We do not run an ad network on this site. We do not embed video players, social media widgets, or third-party scripts that set tracking cookies.
Managing cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers offer per-site cookie controls that let you block specific domains while allowing others. Blocking Google Analytics cookies will prevent us from measuring aggregate traffic but will not affect your ability to read editorial content.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which prevents your browsing data from being sent to Google Analytics on any site.
Browser-specific cookie management:
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences, Privacy, Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions
Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track headers where supported by Google Analytics. If your browser sends a Do Not Track header, our analytics configuration honors that signal where the underlying analytics platform supports it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy occasionally. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least seven days. The current version is always published at this URL with the updated date noted at the top.
